Description
The name TIGHT [English = tight, close] represents what defines this designer shelving system: absolutely precise, secure connections for plugging and clamping. Through the deliberate selection of high-quality materials, thin cross-sections are achieved, lending the overall construction a delicate and light aesthetic. TIGHT is a statement for honest and high-quality shelving. Every element has its place, every connection its purpose – visible, functional, stylish. Instead of concealing connections, TIGHT makes them a design feature.
Material & Scope of Delivery
Images can unfortunately distort the true color somewhat. To accurately assess the material and color and to be absolutely sure, please order a sample. Sample . We will fully reimburse you for the cost if you later decide to make a purchase.
Panel material: For the colored panels of the shelving system, we use a specially developed, dyed-through MDF, characterized by high stability and durability. These material properties allow for thin cross-sections while maintaining consistently high dimensional stability. The material is made from FSC-certified pine wood fibers, the wood being largely sourced as a by-product of the wood industry. The dyeing is achieved using natural pigments, which can lead to slight color variations between different batches. A few small, undyed wood fibers may be visible on the surface. This is inherent to the material, contributes to the desired organic surface appearance, and is not a reason for complaint.
Shelf made of steel:
Steel tube ⌀16x2: Very dark anthracite, matt. Seamless, hot-rolled steel tubing with a characteristic dark mill scale layer, whose irregular color and texture emphasize the deliberately raw look. Minor scratches or blemishes are possible due to the manufacturing process. This natural characteristic distinguishes it from painted or stainless steel surfaces. The tubes are fitted with high-quality end caps milled in Germany. A slight surface rust may develop over time, but this is rare (see "Surface" for details).
Shelf with stainless steel:
Stainless steel tube Ø16x2: Silver, satin finish. Ground with 240 grit for a perfectly uniform and clean appearance. The rustproof tubes are fitted with high-quality end caps milled in Germany.
Small parts:
- Assembly instructions for wood product
- Stainless steel wing nuts
- Stainless steel knurled screws for height adjustment
- Custom-made stainless steel pipe plug, milled by Feldmann in Germany
- Tensioning cross at TIGHT hide + solid from Holzfabrik
surface
Surface treatment of the panels:
Since all materials were consciously chosen to be high-quality and sustainable, the surface treatment is equally appropriate. The sanded panels are finished with Biofa hard wax oil . This natural oil-wax mixture is dirt- and water-repellent, durable, low-yellowing, and meets the DIN 53160 standard (resistant to perspiration and saliva). It underscores the longevity of our sustainable shelving systems.
Surface treatment of the pipes:
Steel pipes:
Sealed with Owatrol oil. Light surface rust may occur in humid environments.
Over years, although rare, it's possible. It can be done with abrasive fleece.
It can be sanded down and then resealed.
Stainless steel pipes: Treated with stainless steel care products, rust-free and maintenance-free.

Production
We rely on regional partners and produce our shelving system regionally . All wood-based components for the shelving system are milled locally in Glottertal at the Wisser GmbH & Co.KG carpentry workshop . Final inspection, manual surface finishing, and logistics are handled by Holzfabrikat . The stainless steel pipe plugs are milled by Feldmann .
