Description
TIGHT ' solid ' – The exception from the shelving system series
TIGHT solid is the only shelf in the series whose basic construction is not designed for tool-free assembly. Why? Because the shelf is made of solid wood – a living material.
Unlike sheet materials, solid wood reacts permanently to temperature and humidity. It "works" – meaning that even perfectly dried boards can warp or buckle over time if they are not properly fixed.
To counteract this, the TIGHT solid wooden shelf uses M6 flat-head screws made of stainless steel. The Allen key (hex key) is included – assembly remains straightforward.
The design nevertheless fits seamlessly into the TIGHT philosophy: minimalist, clear, functional – simply adapted to the characteristics of solid wood.
Material & Scope of Delivery
Images can unfortunately distort the true color somewhat. To accurately assess the material and color and to be absolutely sure, please order samples . We will fully refund the cost if you later decide to purchase.
Origin: For our solid wood shelving system, we source our wood from a small, local sawmill in the Black Forest. This sawmill processes exclusively regional wood, which is dried naturally. This method avoids energy-intensive drying chambers and protects both the material and the environment.
Blackened oak: Through a natural, chemical-free reaction with vinegar and iron, the tannin-rich wood turns a deep dark color. The oak does not lose any quality as a result, and the grain, albeit more subtly, is preserved.
Oiled oak: Oak is a robust, durable and versatile wood, with a beautiful grain and a warm, golden-brown color that blends in well anywhere.
Oiled cherry: Cherry wood is characterized by its warm, reddish-brown color and vibrant grain, which lends the design a special tranquility. It elegantly combines naturalness with subtle warmth and stands out discreetly from other furniture. The reddish-brown color darkens gently with light and time.
Note: Wood is a natural product; knots and variations in grain are natural, characteristic features that shape its appearance and do not constitute defects. These features emphasize the individuality of the wood and are not grounds for complaint. In rare cases, small cracks may also appear over time. These occur, but do not impair the function of the product.
Steel tube ⌀16x2: Very dark anthracite, matte. Seamless, hot-rolled steel tube with a characteristic dark mill scale layer, whose irregular color and structure emphasize the deliberate raw look.
Its natural texture distinguishes it from painted or stainless steel surfaces. A slight surface rust may develop over time, which is rare but possible (see "Surface" for details). The pipes are fitted with high-quality end caps milled in Germany.
Stainless steel tube Ø16x2: Silver, satin finish. Ground with 240 grit for a perfectly uniform and clean appearance. The rustproof tubes are fitted with high-quality end caps milled in Germany.
Small parts:
- Assembly instructions for wood product
- Stainless steel wing nuts
- Knurled screws and stainless steel wing nuts for height adjustment
- Custom-made stainless steel pipe plug, milled by Feldmann in Germany
- Tensioning cross manufactured by Holzfabrikat
- M6 flange head screws
- Allen key

Surface treatment of solid wood:
The sanded solid wood parts of the wooden shelving unit are finished with Biofa furniture oil . This natural oil-wax mixture is dirt- and water-repellent, durable, low-yellowing, and meets the DIN 53 160 standard (resistant to perspiration and saliva) . The non-water-resistant surface should be wiped immediately after contact with liquid and cleaned with a dry or slightly damp cloth without any cleaning agents. Occasional application of maintenance oil to refresh the finish and remove scratches is highly recommended.
Surface treatment of the pipes:
Steel pipes: Sealed with Owatrol oil. Light surface rust may develop over years in humid environments, although rare. This can be sanded off with abrasive fleece and then resealed.
Stainless steel pipes: Treated with stainless steel care products, rust-free and maintenance-free.
Structure & Dimensions
Assembly is simple and possible even without prior DIY experience. Detailed assembly instructions and a suitable Allen key are included.
